How It Works
Sand filters operate on the principle of depth filtration. Pressurized water enters the filter at the top through a diffuser, which distributes the flow evenly over the bed of quartz sand. The water then percolates down through the multi-layered sand bed. Tiny impurities in the water are trapped, adsorbed, and physically screened out by the filter media. The purified water is then collected by the bottom lateral assembly and returned to the pool via the outlet pipe, completing the filtration cycle.
